Hey! The final days of ZeroToHero challenge are here…

“Close your eyes and turn your face into the wind. Feel it sweep along your skin in an invisible ocean of exultation. Suddenly, you know you are alive.” – Vera Nazarian
We were to write a followup on our most popular post for Day 28 of ZTH. The beginning of my blogging journey was via the Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge. And not surprisingly those were the posts that got the most views, likes and comments. So in a followup to this week’s earlier entry here’s one more…the juxtaposing of the 953 Jharokas (small windows) decorated with intricate latticework and coloured glass of the Hawa Mahal, the ‘Palace of Winds’ at Jaipur, Rajasthan. The architecture of this pink and red sandstone Palace was to give the Royal Ladies a way to observe the bustling marketplace while remaining unobserved themselves. And the scores and scores of windows kept the Palace air conditioned even in the soaring desert summers! You can see my earlier entry to this week here.
P.S. We passed the Hawa Mahal tons of times during our visit to Jaipur till I finally took this shot with my handy small digicam…not bad from a moving car!
Your photo of the palace is far better than I managed, it’s such a stunning building.
