A Bit Competition Crazy

All the world’s a stage, and all the men merely players; and one man in his time plays many parts…

One of my (many ?!) vices is I am competitive by nature… not that I turn everything into a race, it’s just that the thrill of taking on a challenge is kind of a self esteem boost at times. Now I am steadily getting more and more crazy about photography. And inevitably my challenge seeking competitive self wanted to see how I would fare against others. (narcissistic you say?! Couldn’t agree more! 

Sometime back I had seen a colleague’s photograph winning a kind of  ‘Pic of the Day’ award on a photography collection site (Pixoto.com) It has a sort of one-on-one duels on photographs entered into various categories. So….end of last month I took the plunge…and have since added some of my photographs into various categories. The good part… 😀 I’ve been steadily climbing the ladder in some categories. Past week I broke into the top ten percent of the day in the category ‘Artistic Objects’ with the shot featured above. Currently this frame of a vibrant Violet mask flanked by red and black counterparts is in the top 30% of all time in the same category…so feeling happy! Of course the competition keeps getting tougher progressively, so I may not sit perched there for long. But for the time being am enjoying my sixty seconds of fame in the competition. Cheers!
