“A Guest is equivalent to God.”
This is a very famous traditional Indian saying. Indian culture is replete with examples of hosts treating their guests literally like royalty! So if I was to stumble upon a couple I didn’t know, sitting in my living room, eating a slice of cake….well I’d go right ahead and offer them another slice 🙂 like this one here…

P.S. This macro shot of a mouth watering pastry was taken at Flury’s Calcutta, India on a recent visit. Sinfully delicious desserts here are a must try if you are in the neighbourhood. A good start to the week with Macro Monday I think.

I love this. I think that hospitality to guests, whether strangers or acquaintances, is a cornerstone of a good, civilised society. I also really like the photo.
How true! I feel in this modern day rat race we are leaving behind nice traditions like treating our guests well, especially uninvited unexpected ones…we tend to see them as a hindrance to our own plans…Thank you for dropping by and leaving your thoughts here!
Now I want cake!
